What is a hydradermabrasion treatment?
Hydradermabrasion is a 3-in-one treatment that uses the power of both water and oxygen. It combines simultaneous deep cleansing, exfoliation, and nourishing.
Hydradermabrasion is a gentle and relaxing treatment with many health benefits for your skin, including increased blood flow for a glowing appearance.
Refreshing and revitalizing, hydradermabrasion is an all-in-one treatment that leaves your dry skin deeply hydrated and nourished with aqua serums that include antioxidants and peptides.
What does a hydradermabrasion treatment look like?
During your treatment, hydradermabrasion may be used to resurface the skin. After a thorough cleansing of surface makeup and debris, your aesthetician will use a small, hand held wand.
The wand has a small, round tip on one end that simultaneously suctions while spraying a nourishing serum onto the skin. Typically, your technician will pass the wand over your skin three times.
The treatment is comfortable and pain free. After your hydradermabrasion, other procedures may be used on the skin, depending on the treatment booked.
Is hydradermabrasion safe? What are the side effects and contraindications?
The technology used in hydradermabrasion is FDA-approved and very safe. Hydradermabrasion is indicated for all skin tones and types. We believe almost everyone can benefit from a hydradermabrasion facial.
Generally, there are no safety indications necessary with hydradermabrasion, but your aesthetician is trained to speak with you about any concerns they may foresee.
If you have eczema on your face, open sores or wounds, or an active rash, hydradermabrasion should be avoided until your skin has cleared. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid hydradermabrasion due to the chemicals used in the treatment.
This treatment is indicated for the all-around health of the skin. If you have a severe skin-health concern or skin condition that you want to address, there may be other treatments better suited for you.
Who’s a good candidate for a hydradermabrasion treatment?
Hydradermabrasion is a good choice for anyone who would like to elevate the overall appearance of their face and have glowing, revitalized skin. Excellent candidates are generally healthy individuals who may have acne, wrinkles, clogged or large pores, or would like to see an improvement in their uneven skin tone or texture.
Hydradermabrasion is safe for all skin tones and types, including darker skin tones. Most people tolerate hydradermabrasion well, however, if you have rosacea or sensitive skin, speak to your technician before your treatment begins.
How do you prepare?
Before your treatment, avoid using any chemical peels or retinols. Also, avoid getting a sunburn as the treatment can’t be done over an area that’s had too much sun exposure.
Don’t spray tan beforehand as the treatment will likely remove portions of your tan and leave a streaked, uneven look. If you are on Accutane, speak to your dermatology specialist about stopping your treatment for a time preceding your treatment.
You can not have hydradermabrasion if you are taking Accutane.
Aftercare
Be sure to wear sunscreen after your treatment (and every day!) to help protect the skin and maintain your look. Drink plenty of water in the days following your facial to help elevate the effects of the treatment.
How soon can you see results from a hydradermabrasion facial?
You’ll see immediate results from your hydrafacial and your skin’s tone and texture will continue to improve in the days following your treatment. You’ll notice that your skin feels plumped and smooth.

How long will the results last?
Your results will last 3-4 weeks, however, with a dedicated and consistent skin care plan, your hydradermabrasion results will be cumulative, and you’ll see longer lasting results.
What’s the difference between hydradermabrasion and microdermabrasion?
Similar to hydradermabrasion, microdermabrasion extracts the skin’s impurities and simultaneously suctions pores to remove debris and dirt, targeting the deepest layers of the skin.
However, instead of chemicals blended with hydrotherapy that help exfoliate the skin, microdermabrasion uses a specialized tool fitted with a diamond tip which is used to exfoliate and resurface the top layers of the skin. This action removes dead skin cells and opens up pores.
