What is a Celluma Pro LED facial treatment?
Celluma Pro LED is a low-light therapy where red and blue infrared light sources are placed close to the skin. The light penetrates below the outer layers of the skin into the dermis where it stimulates vital cellular processes and helps repair damaged cells. LED light therapy stimulates collagen production to firm and tone the skin while reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and has antibacterial properties to help reduce acne pimples and infections.
What does a Celluma Pro LED treatment look like?
A treatment using Celluma Pro LED is completely non-invasive. When used on its own or in conjunction with other treatments, the LED light-emitting device is placed over the treatment area. The machine wraps around the face and neck but doesn’t touch the skin. The light can be applied for the skin for up to 30 minutes.
Is Celluma Pro LED safe? What are the side effects and contraindications?
Celluma Pro is considered safe and effective for all skin types and colors, however, there are a few conditions that cause a contraindication to LED light therapy treatments.
Celluma is contraindicated for women who are pregnant or nursing. If you have a seizure disorder, photo-sensitivity caused by medications or other reasons, or have cancer, you should not be treated with LED light therapy. Your aesthetician may have other reasons for requiring you to wait to have LED light therapy.
How do you prepare?
Please do not wear any lotion, sunscreen, makeup, or any other products to your treatment. Your hair should be pulled back so the light can evenly penetrate the entire surface of the skin.
Aftercare
Following your treatment, you can apply makeup and go back to your regular activities immediately, although we encourage you to keep your skin as clean as possible for 24 hours.
How soon can you see results from a Celluma Pro LED facial?
You’ll be able to see some results immediately and your skin will continue to improve for the next 2-4 weeks. Continued monthly or bi-monthly treatments is recommended.
How long will the results last?
Your results will last 4-6 weeks. We recommend Celluma Pro is used as part of your ongoing skincare regimen.
Can Celluma Pro LED light damage my skin?
No. Celluma LED light does not use UV light (the sunlight that causes sunburns and cell damage) or blue light (the light from computer screens that cause skin and eye damage). Celluma is used close to the skin, but not directly on the skin, and is not hot enough to cause burns.
